Our Team
Command Post was born with a mission to solve real problems for contractors by delivering sophisticated yet simple-to-use tools. Founders Peter Lasensky and Richard Rohmann have a shared history of turning pain points into groundbreaking solutions, starting with their first collaboration in 1997.
Peter Lasensky, a lifelong builder and entrepreneur, often says, “They say necessity is the mother of invention, but in my case, pain was the mother of invention.” His journey began when his construction company faced a payment dispute on a completed project. Without proper documentation of verbal directives, he realized how critical it was to capture and timestamp essential field communications. This painful experience sparked the idea for a mobile solution, ultimately leading to the creation of “push-to-report” and “push-to-email” services on Nextel’s iDEN phone network in the early 2000s.
Lasensky and Rohmann’s early ventures gained strong market traction. In 2008, Lasensky left Pacific DataVision (do we need to explain what Pacific DataVision was?) to launch NoteVault, a construction-focused Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that allowed contractors to document job site activity using mobile phones. NoteVault became a trusted tool in the industry, and with the advent of the iPhone, it evolved into the enterprise-grade NoteVault Notes app. In 2020, Bentley Systems acquired NoteVault and rebranded it as SYNCHRO Notes.
In 2020, Lasensky and Rohmann reunited to build a modern version of Command Post’s RevOps software, inspired by long-time customers who were still relying on the original desktop application. By 2023, the newly developed Command Post RevOps software was released to the public, offering real-time insights and automation for revenue management.
In 2025, they launched CP Notes, a cutting-edge replacement for SYNCHRO Notes (formerly NoteVault). Built from the ground up with modern technology, CP Notes retained the simplicity that made its predecessors beloved while introducing advanced administrative features and world-class performance.
Command Post exists because two innovators refused to accept the status quo. With decades of experience, countless patents, and a deep understanding of construction challenges, Lasensky and Rohmann have committed themselves to providing contractors with tools that reduce friction, enhance communication, and improve profitability. It’s a mission driven by necessity, forged through experience, and realized through relentless innovation.

Customer Stories

D&M Electrical: A Legacy of Partnership and Growth with Command Post
"We're thrilled to collaborate with Command Technologies, Inc. on it's latest iteration, Command Post v4. Back in 1993, when we started our business, access to software was limited. Our first estimating software was even DOS-based. When we transitioned to the Windows environment and discovered the initial version of Command Post, it was a game-changer for our project management needs. As our company expanded and new software options emerged, we occasionally explored other programs, but Command Post remained a crucial tool for preconstruction. However, we always felt a gap in our toolkit and processes.
When Command Tech CEO Peter Lasensky approached us about working on Command Post v4, given our prior association, I didn't hesitate to say "YES!" In our early discussions, it was evident that they grasped the reality that no single program today caters to all the demands of contractors. They also understood the necessity for software that seamlessly integrates with a company's diverse applications. Peter and his team attentively listened to our requirements and are diligently working on a range of features that will ultimately enhance our efficiency with one integrated solution for all our software and file-sharing needs, eliminating redundant data entry, and fundamentally refining our work processes."

There’s not much in the construction and contracting world that Peter Lasensky hasn’t done. Since running his very first business at age 16 painting houses in Oceanside, NJ, he’s been learning lessons all along the way – usually the hard way. Now with 40+ years of experience owning and running construction companies, as well as creating software and services to help other large and small contracting businesses, he’s got a blueprint for that crucial project so many construction firms never quite nail – how to build your own success.
Peter knew he needed to create "One Way To Run A Construction Company" when his residential construction business in Philadelphia grew rapidly to 65 employees – and he realized things were getting out of control. Every builder knows what happens when you try to create something without a solid plan. Over decades, Peter’s honed his detailed roadmap complete with policies and procedures for running a construction company – and now he’d like to share it with you, too.
